Shojo series inspired anime, upcoming live-action film
The official website for Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine announced that the magazine's June issue will include the final chapter of Ayuko Hatta's Wolf Girl & Black Prince (Ōkami Shōjo to Kuro Ōji) manga when it ships on May 13.
The 15th compiled volume of the manga will ship on April 25, and the 16th and final volume is slated for May 25.
Hatta launched the manga in Bessatsu Margaret in 2011.
The shōjo manga centers around Erika Shinohara, a vain 16-year-old girl who tells her friends about her romantic exploits, but she actually has no boyfriend. She claims that a handsome boy in a candid photo is her boyfriend, but it turns out that boy is a schoolmate named Kyōya Sata. She has no choice but to make him her fake boyfriend. Unfortunately, Sata may look like a sweet person, but he is actually an ultra-black-hearted sadist. Sata takes advantage of Erika's weakness and treats her like his dog.
The manga inspired a television anime in 2014. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks licensed it for North America. The manga is also inspiring a live-action film, which will open on May 28 in Japan.
