Sanrio's Puroland theme park has hosted all kinds of events amid its own mascot paradise. A mystery event starring Hatsune Miku, a stage reading of a yaoi novel, and a dance event featuring a rapping Frieza have all graced the stage.
The Tama park's efforts aren't in vain either, as stock in Sanriocontinues to grow. The theme park will invest five billion yen (US$9.2 million) by 2020 to increase its customer base and complete renovations on its attractions. The park gets about 1.8 million visitors per year and would like to increase that number by 10 percent, hopefully by attracting more young women and foreign tourists.
