The Morose Mononokean Anime's Promo Highlights Main Characters

Advance screening of 1st 2 episodes to be held on June 4 in Tokyo

Tokuma Japan began streaming a promotional video for the television anime adaptation of Kiri Wazawa's The Morose Mononokean (Fukigen na Mononokean) manga on Thursday. The video highlights the two main characters of the anime.
An advance screening event of the anime's first two episodes will take place on June 4 at United Cinemas Toyosu in Tokyo. Yuuki Kaji and Tomoaki Maeno, who play the anime's main characters, will be in attendance for a talk event. Tickets for the event will go on sale on April 23. A drama CD with an original story will be offered during the event, after which it will go on sale on June 24.
The anime will premiere in July.
Tomoaki Maeno will play Haruitsuki Abeno (right in visual at right) in the anime, while Yuuki Kaji (left) will play Hanae Ashiya. The two actors also voice the roles in the motion comic available for streaming only on the anime's official website. The first four chapters are available for streaming now.
Akira Iwanaga (Tegami Bachi: Letter BeeCorpse Party: Tortured Souls,Isuca) is directing the series at Pierrot PlusTakao Yoshioka (Ikki TousenHigh School DxDYour Lie in April) is in charge of series composition. Atsuko Kageyama is designing the characters, and Yasuharu Takanishi (Fairy TailLog HorizonBoruto -Naruto the Movie-) is composing the music.
A stage play adaptation will run at the Akasaka Red Theater in Tokyo from September 7-11.
Crunchyroll is publishing the manga digitally in English, and it describes the manga's first volume:
Ashiya has spent the first seven days of high school stuck in the infirmary because of a yōkai attaching itself to him. He ends up asking the owner of a small tea room called "Mononokean" for help. This is volume 1 of the mysterious stories involving the very morose owner of Mononokean guiding the yōkai that happened to wander into this world go to the next world.
Wazawa launched the manga in Square Enix's Gangan Online web manga site in 2013. Square Enix published the manga's fifth compiled book volume last November.
