Fūka and Kasumi are animated in direct-to-video film
Toei announced details for its upcoming direct-to-video film Kaettekita Shuriken Sentai Ninninger: Ninnin Girls vs. Boys Final Wars on Friday. The film includes the Shuriken Sentai Nininger project's first animated sequence.
Kozue Komatsu (Eiga Smile Precure: Ehon no Naka wa Minna Chiguhagu! character design, animation director) is serving as animation director for the sequence, and Hisashi Kagawa (Fresh Pretty Cure character design) is handling the key animation.
In the film's story, the Nininger team splits up and Fūka and Kasumi become the idol ninjas "Ninnin Girls." The animated sequence features Fūka and Kasumi.
The film will ship on Blu-ray and DVD on June 22. The film will be screened at an event in Tokyo on May 7, Osaka on May 20, and Kyoto and Nagoya on May 21.
The Shuriken Sentai Nininger television series premiered in February 2015 as the 39th installment in Toei's Super Sentai franchise. The 40th installment, Dōbutsu Sentai Zyuohger, premiered in February 2016.
