The Last Restaurant Time-Travel Gourmet Manga Gets Live-Action Show

Nobunaga, Caesar, Joan of Arc, & more have their final meals in era-spanning restaurant

The March issue of Shinchosha's Monthly Comic@Bunchmagazine is announcing on Thursday that a live-action television adaptation of Michihiko Tōei's The Last Restaurant (Saigo no Restaurant) manga has been green-lit.
In this "time-travel gourmet story," historical figures come from many different eras to an otherwise ordinary restuarant named Heaven's Door. These historical figures each wish to savor one dish right before they die, so the restaurant's owner and chef Shinogu Sonoba strives to fulfill the customers' extravagant requests.
The historical figures in the manga's first two volumes include Oda Nobunaga, Marie Antoinette, Julius Caesar, Sakamoto Ryōma, Joan of Arc, Adolf Hitler, Billy the Kid, Cleopatra, Salvador Dali, and Guan Yu.
Tōei launched the manga in Monthly Comic@Bunch in 2011, and Shinchosha published the seventh volume in December. Tōei's first manga series wasConcierge, a story of a young woman who serves the titular role at the Quincy Hotel Tokyo.
