Multi-player action RPG ships in N. America on January 26, in Europe on January 29
Square Enix of North America began streaming a promotional video for the Final Fantasy Explorers multi-player action role-playing game for the Nintendo 3DS on its official YouTube channel on Thursday.
Square Enix describes the game as follows:
FINAL FANTASY EXPLORERS focuses on cooperative play with friends, utilizing a refined party system allowing Explorers to master over 20 jobs, each offering unique ways to defeat or even recruit the realm's mightiest monsters. Players will have the ability to call upon the powers of eidolons like Ifrit and Bahamut, as well as to transform into legendary characters from the FINAL FANTASY series via the Trance ability. Multiplayer functionality is enabled through the Nintendo 3DS wireless communication.
Nintendo announced during a Nintendo Direct presentation in November that Square Enix will release the game with a Collector's Edition. Aside from a copy of the game, the Collector's Edition will include a Nintendo 3DS XL case, a soundtrack with 20 tracks from the game, and an artbook.
The Collector's Edition will also feature four exclusive quests that will unlock weapons from various Final Fantasy games. The weapons include: Venus Gospel (Final Fantasy VII), Death Penalty (Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-), Crimson Blitz (Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII), and Thyrus (Final Fantasy XIV).
The game shipped in Japan in December 2014, and it will ship in North America on January 26 for US$39.99, and in Europe on January 29.
