My Hero Academia Arcade Card Game Launches in April

This year's eighth issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine (issue cover pictured at right) revealed on Monday that the Boku no Hero Academia: Gekitotsu! Heroes Battle (My Hero Academia: Clash! Heroes Battle) arcade card game based on Kōhei Horikoshi's My Hero Academiamanga will launch in arcades in Japan in April.
Takara Tomy Arts is developing the "hero card battle" game. In the game, players will be able to make three-person teams made up their favorite characters from the series. Players can collect hero cards and use them for battle. Each play on the game will cost 100 yen (about US$0.85). Confirmed playable characters include Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugō, and Ochako Uraraka. The game's official website also previews what the arcade cabinet and hero cards will look like:

The card game also has an accompanying smartphone app for Android and iOS devices that is available now.
Horikoshi's manga is also inspiring the My Hero Academia: Battle for All Nintendo 3DS game that will ship this year. The manga is also getting a television anime adaptation, which will premiere in April.
