Adaptation of Yue Takasuka shōjo manga premieres on February 12 on Fuji TV on-demand, Netflix
The staff of the "screen adaptation" of Yue Takasuka's shōjo manga Good Morning Call confirmed on Thursday that the adaptation will be a live-action drama. The TV series will be available on Fuji TV on-demand and on Netflix starting on February 12. Fuji TV's website website is streaming a teaser video, and it also unveiled the drama's cast and visuals.
The cast includes:
- Haruka Fukuhara as Nao Yoshikawa
- Shunya Shiraishi as Hisashi Uehara
- Dori Sakurada as Daichi (original character)
- Moe Arai as Marina
- Kentarō as Icchan
- Shugo Nagashima as Micchan
- Kōya Nagasawa as Jun Abe
- Hinako Tanaka as Nanako
- Erika Mori as Yuri Uehara
Takasuka launched her Good Morning Call manga in Shueisha'sRibon magazine in 1997, and ended it in 2002. Shueishapublished the manga's 11th and final volume in 2002. The manga received a one-episode OVA adaptation in 2001. Takasuka launched a sequel to the original manga titled Good Morning Kiss in Cookie in 2007, which is currently ongoing.Shueisha published the manga's 13th compiled book volume last July, and will publish the 14th volume on January 25.
