Manga creator Kôji Kumeta (Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei,Joshiraku) published a one-shot manga titled "Kumeshort" in this year's ninth issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sundaymagazine on Wednesday. Kumeta last drew a manga for the magazine three years ago, with the "Tōfū (Fu)Kenbunroku" one-shot in 2013.
"Kumeshort" centers on a short-haired girl named Tomoko Nikaidō. The one-shot features two chapters: one set in a high-rise condominium titled "High-Rise Tomoko," and one set in a resort spot titled "Resort Tomoko." A message on the manga's last page stated, "How was 'Kumeshort'? Next time, I would be happy if we could meet again around spring."
Kumeta and artist Yasu ended their Joshiraku manga in September 2013. Kumeta ended his Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei manga in May 2012. Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei inspired three TV anime series and several OVAs, andJoshiraku also inspired a TV anime series. Kumeta launched his Kakushigoto manga in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in December, and is currently serializing it.
